Colleen Kumia, M.S.W., L.C.S.W
During
my years of competitive sports and in the performance arts
field, I have experienced slumps, training fatigue, and
creative blocks. I’ve coached amateur athletes to believe
in themselves and their efforts even at times of defeat. I,
like many, have watched and observed how words or the
pressures of performance have changed the course of one’s
moment. Are you being held back by memories of a poor
performance(s) from your past?
With a
Bachelors degree in Physical Education and a Masters degree
in Social Work, and over 20 plus years in the counseling
field, I’ve decided to merge my passions into ONE FOCUS AZ,
an Optimum Performance Coaching and Counseling practice.
I will be drawing from my background of being a competitive
athlete, educator, performing artist and professional
counselor to assist you with enhancing and unlocking YOUR
mental and emotional barriers that prevent YOU from
performing at YOUR BEST.
It has
been my experience as a counselor and as a performer that
often we don’t know we’re getting in our own way towards
bringing out the best in ourselves. I believe the body and
mind connection is essential to reaching our potential, not
only as performers but as individuals. My expertise is in
helping people understand their habitual patterns and
patterns are connected to their thoughts and feelings.
My specialty
training in EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing,
allows me to quickly target the blocks to performance and
facilitate the freeing up of one’s innate resources towards
enhancing intended outcomes. EMDR can be
used effectively to increase self-confidence, positive
feelings and behaviors, and to meet goals. It can be used to
enhance performance and strengthen one's inner resources,
creativity and core resilience. Similar to a having your
car realigned, EMDR realigns the mind, body, emotions, and
vision to work collectively towards a clear target.
I look
forward to working with you towards clearing and sharpening
your mind, strengthening your body memories and sensations
and focusing your vision towards ONE FOCUS in meeting your
personal performance goals. |
